Frequently asked questions about Minutemailer

Just an email address and a list of customers who have agreed to hear from you. Everything works in the browser, so there is nothing to install. If you have your own domain (like yourcafe.com), sending from it helps your emails reach the inbox. Here is how.

Yes. Create a free account in seconds, no credit card needed. You can send up to 1,000 emails a month for free, with no time limit, and close your account whenever you like.

Minutemailer has all the basic features of an email marketing and newsletter tool. Ready made email templates for mobile and computer. The possibility to save your own email templates. Tracking of openings and clicks. Unsubscribe links in emails. Easy editing of your newsletters and much more. Our focus is on ease of use and getting things done. If some important feature is missing please let us know.

Go to your Contacts or your Contact lists to import contacts. Select an Excel or CSV file that contains email addresses and click 'Upload contacts' to import it. You might have to help identify the columns in your list. You can also add a contact by hand.

You can create as many lists as you want. A contact can be on several lists and if you send to several lists at the same time, we will only send one email to one contact, so a contact should not be able to receive the same email twice.

You can use the ready made code or the quick link to the ready made signup page for your list. Go to the contact list you want to link to and choose “Get more subscribers” to find the code that you need. Read our guide on subscribe forms.

Yes. You can organize your contacts into different lists and send targeted emails to specific lists. You can also retarget contacts based on who opened or clicked in a previous email, making it easy to follow up with the right people.

Custom fields let you store additional information about your contacts, like first name, company, or city. You can then use this data to personalize your emails with smart tags, so each recipient gets a message that feels personal. Learn more about merge tags and custom fields.

You can easily save an email as a template and use it again as a starting point for your next email. We don't support creating custom templates in HTML code as we want to make sure every email being sent from Minutemailer looks good and professional and works in every email client. If you have some requests when it comes to design let us know.

Send the email to yourself and then save or “print” the email as a pdf in your email client.

On paid plans you can add a file (PDF, Excel or Word) to your email. Recipients get a download button, and the file is stored by Minutemailer rather than sent inside the email. Read how to send files.

Yes, we have a simple function to paste a link to a video into your email that generates a thumbnail. The video needs to be hosted on Youtube or some other website we support.

Yes. When your email is ready, you can choose to send it immediately or schedule it for a specific date and time. You can also choose to send emails gradually over time to improve deliverability.

Yes. In addition to designed newsletters, you can send simple plain text emails for a more personal, one-on-one feel. Great for personal follow-ups or simple reminders.

Yes. Autopilot sends emails automatically. There are three types: a welcome email to new subscribers (add a few with different delays to build a welcome series), a win-back email to people who have not opened or clicked in a while, and a recurring email sent on a schedule (for example weekly) to everyone in a list who has not received it yet, including new contacts. You set it up once and it runs on its own.

The best way to make sure your email is delivered is to create interesting content that your contacts have asked to receive. If you haven't already we also recommend that you authenticate your email domain to improve delivery. Read our guide on deliverability.

We work continuously with optimizing the delivery of your emails. But sometimes emails can still end up in the spam folder. Please read our guide to avoiding the spam folder.

Your email provider's spam filter may have caught the email, or there may be a temporary error. Try sending to another email address and see if the problem remains.

Email authentication verifies that your emails actually come from you. SPF and DKIM are technical standards that help email providers trust your messages. Setting them up in your DNS greatly improves your chances of reaching the inbox instead of the spam folder. Read our authentication guide.

Yes. We automatically track delivered, dropped, opens, clicks and bounces for every email sent. Just go to your Result page and view the numbers. Due to privacy settings in some email clients the actual number of opened emails can be higher than the statistics show.

Bounced emails were returned by the receiving email server, either because of a permanent error or a temporary one. Dropped emails were not sent because the address has bounced before or the recipient has marked an earlier email as spam.

Yes. For each email you send, you can see which contacts opened it and which contacts clicked. This makes it easy to follow up with engaged contacts or retarget them in your next email.

One credit equals one email to one contact. As an example 1,000 credits is enough to send 1 email to 1,000 contacts or if you want 4 emails to 250 contacts. The credits included in your plan renew every month. Credits you buy or earn are added on top of your monthly credits.

Yes. You can cancel, upgrade or downgrade at any time.

Minutemailer does not charge for the number of contacts you have, as most of our competitors do. We charge for credits that you use to send emails. We think it's a nicer and more honest way to charge for the service and for most it means a lower total price. Learn more about how we compare to our competitors.

You won't be able to send emails if you don't have enough credits. You can either choose to upgrade your team, buy more credits or invite some friends to earn credits. The credits on your plan renew each month, and any credits you buy or earn are added on top.

A lot of our competitors charge you based on number of contacts on your account. Minutemailer doesn't have that limit and instead charges based on how much you send. You can store as many contacts as you like on your team. Even on the free plan.

On Minutemailer you can work together in teams to create content and send emails. Different plans allow for different amount of team members. Unlimited team members means there is no limit to the number of team members for that plan.
